Most people recognize Leah Brown as the Co-Founder of the Nationally acclaimed Diversity Alliance for Science, Inc, a 501(c) non-profit created to provide a platform to identify, attract, and develop small and/or diverse businesses to drive inclusive procurement practices in corporate, academic, and governmental entities within the life science and healthcare industries. After selling her clinical research business, A10 Clinical Solutions in 2018, Leah was appointed as CEO and Managing Partner of Community-Centric Opioid Data and Research Services, Inc. (CORDS) based in Washington, DC. Now, Leah is co-Founder and CEO of Acnos Pharma CTS.
A licensed attorney, Leah has held several Corporate Executive and Board positions. She served on the Executive Board for Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC), National Council Healthcare Committee Chair for Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce just to name a few. She served 7 years on NC State University National Advisory Board for the Institute for Emerging Issues and currently is a Board member of Duke Raleigh Hospital and Martha’s Vineyard Community Services.
The US Department of Commerce and Small Business Administration (SBA) presented her with the 2011 North Carolina Minority Business Person of the Year award and she represented the state of North Carolina in meetings with President Obama on life sciences job creation. Leah won Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year® Award Carolinas 2010 and has served as a national and regional EOY® judge. Leah has also been ranked by Fortune magazine, which named her in Top 10 Women Entrepreneurs and her leadership garnered recognition and accolades from Bloomberg BusinessWeek, American Express OPEN, CNBC, NBC Nightly News, and others.
Leah holds a B.S. in Information Technology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky. Certified in Healthcare Compliance she also attended Executive Management Programs at Dartmouth and Northwestern. Leah is an awareness writer and sought-after national speaker on Women Leadership, Entrepreneurism, and Healthcare Disparity issues.
As a business leader with more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Tammy is responsible for streamlining the complex process of comparator procurement into an organized, centralized system that enables sponsor companies to save millions of dollars over the life of a clinical trial. As partner in a women-owned business, Tammy is a thought leader who pursues and promotes opportunities for diverse small companies in the life sciences sector.
Prior to co-founding Acnos Pharma CTS, she founded Avayle CTS, LLC and held senior leadership roles at the clinical trial supply firm CaligorRx. She served as Managing Director of the company from 2010 to 2016, overseeing significant revenue growth and geographic expansion, and later as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer following the acquisition of CaligorRx by private equity firm Diversis Capital, LLC. Her industry expertise includes senior-level business development positions at Pharmarama International and IDIS Pharmaceuticals. She also has served in senior investor relations and corporate communications positions at OXiGENE, Gemini Genomics and Indevus Pharmaceuticals.
Tammy’s corporate and non-profit governance experience includes board positions with CaligorRx and Diversity Alliance for Science, a national organization that fosters diversity in the life science industry. She also has served as a member of the Drug Information Association, Healthcare Distribution Management Association, Healthcare Women’s Business Association and Institute for Supply Chain Management. Tammy received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Simmons College School of Management.
